A deep bite is a malocclusion in which your upper front teeth disproportionately overlap the lower front teeth when you bite normally. It is considered a deep bite when only a few millimetres or less of your bottom teeth are visible.

What happens if I don’t opt for a deep bite correction?
If you do leave your deep bite untreated, it can lead to overall oral and health problems such as decaying teeth, difficulty in eating and chewing, cavities, temporomandibular joint disorders (TMD), speech issues and breathing disorders. What causes a deep bite?
There are many reason that can lead to deep bite conditions such as – genetics, a jaw injury that you had, missing teeth if your jaw is too small, if you have developed a strong bite from grinding your teeth or clenching your jaw or there is not enough place in your mouth for permanent teeth03
Can a deep bite be fixed naturally?
No, a deep bite cannot be fixed naturally. You will have to use aligners, and braces or go through surgery.

What are the various treatment options for an overbite?
- Aligners – removable and transparent plastic trays that are firmly fitted on your teeth and apply pressure progressively achieving the perfect position
- Braces – use of metal brackets and wires to push the buck teeth to the desired position
- Tooth removal – our dentists may recommend removing a tooth or certain teeth to bring back your aligned bite
- Jaw surgery – this could be recommended in the case of a severe deep bite condition
- Teeth repair – Our experts may even focus on repairing your back teeth to improve your deep bite. This will include bonding to build up worn-down teeth or adding implants to improve your teeth alignment.
